    Yep, 1970 is good

Not sure what I missed. Isle de Bourbon is the early name for Reunion, so the valid options were Reunion or 1781. Isle De France was the early name for Mauritius.

Correct, didn't see your last post only the 1970 before it

Isle de France and Isle de Bourbon were/are part of France so I really don't know what I did wrong, but carry on.

Probably because when I think of the "next country" theme, I consider it to be geographical, not administratively.

Yeah, I agree with Muzyck. It could get more than tricky if we started basing it by former colonial or imperial rulers or big-brother caretaker. I mean, gosh, we could technically play the US from the Philippines, or PR-China from Germany or Portugal. But I am willing to be convinced otherwise. Where's a boss when you need one?

In the meantime, I'll take us to 1781 Germany; specifically, Saxe-Hildburghausen with this here 1781 2.5-kreuzer (KM 112).

@lordmarcovan, ruling please. "To post one of your coins next, you must either post a coin from the same country OR with the same date."

Hahaha, I don't care, post some coins. Is it 1781 or Saxe-Hildburghausen? hahaha again. Rules!!!

Actually, I got the threads mixed up so my "next country" reference was not correct. That being noted, my point was still that I thought the same country was a geographical reference. Just expressing an opinion. If I am wrong, it could open up some interesting options going forward. :playful:

Sometimes with the smaller or more arcane polities, like if I posted a coin from the Swiss Canton of Zurich, for example, it’s OK to just consider that “Switzerland”.

If a German State is in play, it is perfectly acceptable for the next player to post any German coin, based on the geography of the modern nation state. It doesn’t have to be from the same state or city or whatever. You could just suggest the next player go with “Germany” if they want.

As long as it is from the same general “country” category, it will do. And that’s subject to interpretation by the players.

It’s not like there’s any point or final outcome to this endless and semi-meaningless game, anyway. ‘Tis intended merely as a fun pastime, is all. :)

Since we're at 1781 or Germany (or Saxe-Hildburghausen), I'll play from 1781, since it gives me an opportunity to post one of the newps I recently acquired from @Chris B.

Next player may play from 1781 or Russia (or Siberia).

1781, OK. Here is one from Holland, VOC 1 duit. Made in Netherlands, circulated in modern day Indonesia, probably Malaysia and Sri Lanka too. So play from any of those countries, or any VOC coin or 1781. 1781 H VOC 1 d obv.JPG 1781 H VOC 1 d rev.JPG

1728 Zeeland duit. This one was pricey, as it is rather rare. I have a ton of VOC duits, could go on forever posting them on here. 1728 Z VOC 1 d obv.JPG 1728 Z VOC 1 d rev.JPG
