This is a 1960-D Lmc. I was cracked out of a PCI slab that had had acetone spilled on it. so would you grade it?
Are you asking if it should be regraded or what would I grade it? If the former, no. I would grade it 63-RED.
I hate to say this but by the pic jello the coin looks like the copper was washed out I think acetone could effect the copper ,I would only put a grade about MS61 I see alot of striation lines on the fields that would also take the grade down Jazzcoins Joe
The coin has lots of Die Polish lines which would effect the eye appeal and there is some light rub, friction and scratches on Lincoln's face and the steps of the Memorial Building. Due to these, I would say MS-62RD or RB (can't tell the true color from the pics)! I believe that it may be one of the lesser Doubled Die Obverse Varieties for the Date and Mint. Note the bar under the tail bar of the "L" in LIBERTY. Frank
I would say there;s Machine doubling on the date as well as liberty i don't see any indications of a doubled die at all Jazz
May be the photos, but I would rate it a MS64R..Looks like a smalldate over largedate DDO variety. But I don'tsee a visible north D/D. In my imagination I "imagine" I can see it near the date, but not close to being sure, may be a LDS. I suspect you meant that a few drops of acetone got on the plastic surface and produced an unsightly spot, and not that the acetone got to the coin. Jim
What I see Jim is Machine doubling on the date as well as Liberty the image that frank sees is striation lines above the L in liberty. Here are the pics i indicated in red MD and a rectangular box were the striations are The las two pics are a large date over small date cent compare the two There's also a die marker notice the die crack southwest of the date the ops coin don't have that and the RPM also Jazz
