Does anyone else have boxes and boxes of misc. coin supplies and such that they have accumulated over the years? I was organizing some of my stuff today and realized I have boxes and boxes of everything coin related. What does one do with this stuff?
I call it "coin clutter". Many people like it because it gives them something to go through on slow Saturdays or it provides a little excitement when you find something you "forgot you had". There are emotional attachments to those boxes. I tend to take a harder look at them and consider it to be bad purchases, one too many, didn't need that, etc... And of course, we can't get rid of any of it. It's "worth something". Or we're gonna give it out to a YN or at the next coin club meeting - which we never do - otherwise why would we still have boxes of the crap. Oh well. Once we're gone, I pity the people who have to go through this stuff, because they probably won't know if there is truly something valuable in one of the boxes.....
I save it and either: A: start a new set B: give it away C: wait till the next show and try to sell it. Speedy
If it is suppiles, I give it away. There are several tellers at the local banks that started collecting this year and as they are new to the hobby they welcome any thing connected with the hobby. They also pass some of it along to some of the chrildren that we have gotten interested in collecting. Bill
twoson: Just package it up and PM me for my address. I would use it and give the rest a good home. LOL. especially old coin books!
I save all my coin related "stuff", no need to get rid of it, I might need it in the future. I already paid for it once, why pay for it twice?
