I always check every Coin Star. Every now and then a foreign or bent clad US coin might be found. Every Blue Moon a silver US dime might appear. Today, I might want to buy a lottery ticket as well.
Around here the only things our Coin Star machines produce are South and Central American coins along with terribly mangled Zincolns.
I mean, WW. Here are my CoinStar finds, as usual... Last time it was... And the time before that it was zilch. Or maybe nada.
I should point out that I spoke with a Walmart employee about the lack of coins in the reject bins of their Coin Star machines. She told me that a customer service employee checks the machine at least once an hour for any coins in the reject bins. That's here, probably different where you are.
The bigger question: who originally mixed a gold coin in with random foreigns? I mean, I've got a real organization problem, but I've never done that.
That's CoinStar Hall of Fame right there, baby. Couldn't have happened to a nicer guy, as far as I'm concerned. But wait... I'm a nice guy too, so where's mine?
I found 3 silver Roosevelts last year. Only a few bucks worth but everyone here on CT knows that 'little rush' I was feeling!
