Ok. I know what an error is and a variety coin but is a Variety coin an Error ? Ok, got it . Please read these two : https://www.ngccoin.com/news/article/1655/Variety-versus-Mint-Error/ https://www.currencyandcoin.com/rare-coin-report/varieties-vs-errors-whats-the-difference/#:~:text=Errors. The terms variety and error are often, and therefore people assume it's an error coin.
The NGC website explians the difference very well. I use the NGC explanation for newbies all the time. Here is the PCGS explanation.. https://www.pcgs.com/news/mint-error-or-die-variety
padyman . When I said Newbie, I meant to errors in general. My Favorite Variety is the 1868 Shield Nickels FS-901 to 906 !!Are you all you familiar with it . I own FS-903, FS-904 and FS-906 . just can't get a exact value for each.
That's great. But I'm only a collector of Mint Errors, hundreds of them. I don't really have that many varieties, maybe about 6. But I understand what they are. Add about 30 more Attributed mint errors since this picture was taken!
Wow, now that's a Collection !!! I only have like 10 % of what you have ! I better Love my Wife more . LOL Where did you get that T-shirt ? I want one .
Just google the entire phrase and you will get several websites that sell it. Here is a nice one - https://www.teepublic.com/t-shirt/2264547-i-love-my-wife-funny-coin-collecting-numismatics
What is the reason of the small qty of 10c ? Less errors exist or you just don’t like them? Impressive collection in any case!
Not that less exist. But there has to be more or less of something in my time collecting.. Probability
FWIW, this 2005-S KS Silver Proof SQ was originally attributed as an Error when I submitted it to NGC in 2005, but in 2012, it was added to the CPG as a Variety, FS-901, "Die Dent". So, I resubmitted it to NGC for the new attribution.
Yeah, I'm getting one for Xmas , I'll post a pic of me wearing it on Xmas Morning , lol ! Plus a coin too ,lol.
