What to collect?

    I'm new to star note collecting, actually only have two $1.00 star notes pulled from circulation. I prefer to buy uncirculated examples though, but need some tips on what to collect for future price appreciation potential. I realize from my basic knowledge of star notes so far that all star notes are fairly scarce, but not all are considered rare. I'm looking to invest in rarer issues. Can some experienced star note collectors give me a couple examples of $1.00 star notes that are considered rare for me to begin with? I would greatly appreciate all help. Thanks.

    $1 1981 Buchanan-Regan. JD block. The rarest small size FRN $1. Distributed in rural Mississippi and unknown in uncirculated condition until a group of 27 consecutively numbered notes surfaced recently.

    This is not a Star note but for a $1 note , it trades at 2000x face!!
    With the exception of notes found in circulation...
    Most of the $1 Stars can be purchased in District Sets from $165 to $275 per set in most cases....
    these will be in chcu condition or better!

    RichieB.. I was just talking about this note the other day with Prof Kelly.
