Error coin?

I found this coin in my school parking lot... I have no idea if it is an "error coin." I thought it was one of those "waffle coins," but I don't know... Does anybody know?

DEFDAM - Definitely Damaged

Not a Mint Error of any kind.

FYI - cancelled coins by the mint are not error coins.

 

What do you think damaged it?

 

Baseball bat.... Hammer.... Crowbar...... Could be anything. Only person that could answer that question is the person that did the damage.

a parking lot coin ... they can get damaged by about anything including the parking lot surface, the stuff on the parking lot surface (dirt, rocks, etc), the cars driving over the parking lot surface (or other things such as lawn mowers driving here and there) ... got jammed in an alien potato gun .. you never know unless you watch it get damaged.

 

Now that I think about it... it could very well be from a lawn mower

 

Pretty difficult to bend a dime so appears to be done on purpose, but it's still just a damaged coin.

 

Canceled is what I meant... is a canceled coin still worth anything?... not asking for me but in general.
