    Here is my mid-mass Athens tetradrachm, note the test cut and "interesting graffiti":

    Here are some macro shots I attempted today. This is with a mid-range Android phone camera and one of the macro lenses that fits over the phone camera with a rubber band.

    And here is a 3 Polker from Sweden's Baltic empire under Queen Kristina. It's not quite ancient, but I hope you'll forgive me because it's on the totally opposite end of the spectrum, completely smooth and wafer thin:

    Very nice shots @OutsiderSubtype

    The Athens tetragrams do have very high relief. I was never very interested in the type until I saw them in person and realized how thick and chunky they are. I bought one more for their fabric than the archaic design.
