Wonderful article! Daniel Carr makes many fantasy coins including a rather interesting set of state quarters. He had a great number of his pieces on display at the ANA's last summer conference. I want the feeder fingers that were "damaged" by those Denver coin dies.
Had no idea who he was prior to seeing this article. I didn't see a mention of the time and money invested in his efforts, but it had to be huge.

I have to admit, I am not a huge fan of his coins...but that coin he made to commemorate the minting machine is the most impressive one I have seen from him. I think before he milled his coins, this one is struck...that might be the reason ...something about the strike makes all the difference. Cool and thanks for linking to it.
I thought he did not strike his coins previously. I guess it was just assumption on my part. I know he uses a CNC mill and his own proprietary program to make them (dies or coins) but I didnt think he struck them. Oh well... Either way, I like the new coin designs he is putting out now much better and I guess its just as a simple as liking the new designs and not how they are produced. The denver mint commem, the one for this machine... and this one for the bailout...funny

Very cool links and read! :eating: I've ordered from him in the past (one silver & one brass coin) and the quality is in line with something from the US mint. I for one want to see that 1964 Peace Dollar issue cleared up so he can sell them! I'd buy one to make my collecting friends do a double take.
