If it never circulated, I guess it would be MS-63 or so. While it's not
full steps, it's showing some steps detail for a business strike.
I can't really see the luster from these photos and often, a coin will look
nicer in hand. If this was pulled from circulation, then AU-58.
The problem with these coins, even in very nice condition like this one, all you can
basically do is put it in a 2x2 and save it. There's just no value despite what the coin guide might say. Yes if it was an MS-67 68 then there is value. But that's rare.

Bag marks on cheek, jaw, and collar would be a minor factor. My opinion 62

I'd guess 62 or 63. I like the little die breaks in STATES, and would put it in a 2x2 and keep it, as Michael K suggested. But the value is not much above face, if any.

Having had hands on it I would give it AU 58 at best.

    It's a 64 at it's best, no FS.

If it wasn't for the damage on the reverse, I would be at 65, if this
coin has not been cleaned or enhanced in any way. It seems very shiny
and I can't tell if it is natural luster or something else.
The gouges at Five Cents are bad. As well as a couple other on the reverse.

78-D/AU58, wear on a circ. coin. 70-D/AU58+, the obverse is really clean but the reverse does not support min. for MS60...I count at least 14 noticeable contact marks or scrapes on the reverse...Spark
