I found this 1986 d penny is this an error

    Sorry, but it's just post mint damage. It has heavy scratches and gouges that occurred after it left the mint, possibly from spending time on the ground in a parking lot or road.

    Merged the duplicate threads. I see there was already a competent crew on hand to assist with the images.

    That one is roadkill. A “parking lot penny”, worth about 0.9 cents. Spend it, quick, before zinc rot makes it worse! ;)
