    Beside grease filled die. What other reason can cause the missing of a letter?

    Hi,

    Being struck through something is about the only way the effect seen on your coin would happen on modern coinage.

    In this case there is no doubt that it was struck through grease. It is the reason that the TE is effected as well as the M of UNUM.
