Need help In getting a grade on the 3 71 d nickels listed below. I read on pcgs that none are above ms66 with or without full steps. These look to be in pretty good condition but not sure if it’s actual grade. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks bro
Pics of the steps are not zoomed in enough. Also Meow would not touch coins that might be graded with uncovered paws. They seem like keepers no matter what they turn out be.
To have full steps, your coin can not have any nicks, or scratches on the steps, if those steps shown on pitcher 10, were on a 1964 nickle, then PCGS, may have given it a full steps rating, because the 1964 nickle had such a poor strike when made, and they made billions of them, that PCGS or NGC , sort of relax a little bit on the grading on pretty much any 1960 nickle, when it comes to full steps, but not the 1970"s as much........I do agree with all replies above, not worth grading..
#1 looks best but is MS-65+ not FS. #2 looks FS but is low end MS-65 or MS-64. FS is common on '71-D so does not warrant submission except in solid MS-65 or MS-66. It probably isn't but check #3 for RPM-1. It will have "wings" on back of the mint mark if it is. Otherwise #3 is just MS-64.
