I was curios about this 1942 D Mercury Dime, 2 over 1- type 2. If its infact what I believe it is and how I should go about selling it?
Doesn't look like it to me: http://varietyvista.com/06 Mercury Dime/1942DDDO001.htm https://www.ngccoin.com/coin-explor...-1945-pscid-31/1942-41-d-10c-ms-coinid-515040
No sir.... I have the 42/41 and it is so prominent that I don't even need my reading glasses to see it. There's is no question about the 42 over 41. That's one you can see from a mile away. Sorry bout that. Still is a nice Merc.
FYI everyone, OP's coin is a Denver mint coin. Not THE 42/41 clear as day Philly coin. That being said, the two links I posted are for the 42/41 Denver coin and OP's still isn't it.
No, the 2 over the 1 Mercury Dime error is easily to see and yours isn't one of them. Better luck next time!
Your all saying no but, i can see it clear as day with a loop. My photos are not high enough of a rez, however if you look closely at the 4 you can see the spine of the DD 4 peeking out. Also on the top of the 2 the 1 is peeking out. Again I'll get higher rez images because it's clearly visible in person.
Here's what one looks like: The overdate appears at the bottom of the numbers, not at the top like you said.
