So here's how the story goes... @Diogenes Diaz posts about a open mouth roosevelt dime, and how he sold one a while ago. A bunch of people get mad at him because they say it's only worth 10 cents. I don't think @Diogenes Diaz or the person he sold it to knew the value of this coin. I agree, Diogenes should go to the person he sold it to and tell him he learned it wasn't actually worth too much. But either way, this thread needs to end. Rules are being violated.

This thread WILL end, and infractions will be issued to ALL flame war participants, if that continues. For now, I have tried to excise all of the bickering posts and have left the coin-related ones up, though I probably should have swept the whole thread away to begin with instead of trying to selectively edit.

I counsel all of you to keep it civil- and on-topic. ~Mod.

The crazy part is that he likes the coin and wants another and he is a member of the other popular coin website and claim he never seen one before--- let be honest the people on here can not determine the price of a coin

This little flame war here is over as of right now, folks. Any further squabbling or name calling or flagged posts, and this thread is gone. And for those of you who wouldn't care if it was, take notice that YOU will receive an infraction if you continue the offensive posting. That applies to ALL of you.

Disagree all you want, but keep it civil... or else.

I have attempted to remove all of the flame war posts (or quotes relating to them) and have left the coin-related content up, for now. Stay on topic, and stop the bickering.

Nobody can determine the price of a coin until it has been in the market for a while in auctions. But I don't think this open mouth variety is very valuable. I wouldn't want it, so I would pay maybe a $1 for it. But that's just me. You probably think that's too low a price, but I would only pay a dollar for a rare ancient coin, no matter the actual value. It just doesn't mean as much to me as a... Let's say mercury dime. The value to every collector can differ on individual coins. Like the one in picture. Obviously, you like it. So it's worth something to you. The guy you sold one to also probably liked the variety, and was willing to pay that amount anytime.

 We have just certified an "open mouth dime" :jawdrop: for one of our ":angelic: pocket change collectors." Bless their hearts.:kiss:

I strongly suggest you guys :cigar::bookworm: get on the band wagon before the price explosion :greedy::greedy::greedy: for these "rare Mint errors" ;) takes place. :D

The sad thing for me :bigtears: was I had to reject :stop: one of his treasures because IM :bucktooth: O the dime's mouth WAS NOT OPEN ENOUGH! :(

Reminder: We should never make fun of our fellow numismatists or what they collect.

Collectors Universe has a thread about them that linked me to this old CT thread.
