Thanks, @Broucheion. Seemed like kind of an arbitrary point to close that line of discussion.

    Hi All,

Venus Felix from the Alexandrian Severan series.

(Speaking to no one in particular really), I wish someone who has a copy of Bickford-Smith's manuscript would publish it in facsimile to honor him, the way Savio produced the Dattari-Savio catalog.

Next: Another from the Severan Alexandria series.

Thanks, @Broucheion, for being the grownup in the room. Nope, nearest I have are Syrian, having found (not great) pics, too late to have contributed to several recent threads involving those.

He's actually started to acquire a unique sheen after having him sit out for the last year or so. But was bright red when I got him:

Next: With an election fast approaching, how about a Roman Republic denarius depicting voting, or, a coin that you'd consider associated with democracy?

This is not voting but trial. My junky fourree is worn to the point that the AC (not guilty/guilty) on the tablet to the right is lost. There are coins showing actual voting so this is not an official entry here.

Here's a hint, for a coin associated with democracy: This city/state is often called the "cradle of democracy".

Celtic coin from the Gaul of the Senones tribe, the tribe which sacked Rome back in 390 BC. 'Indian head' type featuring a horned horse (I'd say a unicorn lol). 3 grams. 52 BC.

I believe this is potin? I have it as billon in my notes but I think I've read it is potin. If anyone knows, though, I'd love to be corrected.
