It's worn but clear as a bell or a D in this case. A great G-VG hole filler. And I got it for fairly low price.
The lowest price I've seen on a 1916-D Mercury Dime was $350 and it was more worn than this on. You could barely see the top of the D. Let's just say that I paid well under that price and I'm very satisfied. My LCS would buy it from me and I'd still make money.
All I can say is, be patient. The right coin is out there at the right price. Patience is a virtue. I had to work on getting it but now, I have the patience of an oyster.
