    Hello,

I'm new to the coin world and I have a few questions before I go to the coin show in Northbrook Illinois.

I have coins from the early 1800's - 1937 - 1981 and a paper " one silver Dollar" series 1928A with no year on it. How do I find out if they are worth anything before I go to the coin show?

    For example I have.......

    1865 2 cent coin
1853 gold usa one cent with 13 stars
    wheat pennies
    buffalo nickles

And one more thing are usa half and silver dollars from 1971-1981 worth anything?

    Thanks in advance,
    Constance

Alright....I would read a few books before I would sell and also I would make sure I know what the grades are and look in a few price guides to see what they have been selling for......

Wheat cents sell for about 5 cents each so dealers give about 3 or 4 cents each.
Buffs sell for about 75 cents or under....
I'm not sure what the 1853 gold cent is...is it a gold dollar?
Also if the One Silver Dollar bill is a 1928-A it seems to me it has a year on it...

    Hope this helps...

    Coin Show Question

 I'm in South Holland. Is there some place in the area I can go to?

    Thanks for the reply

If you look in the phone book under Coin Dealers you might find one--
Just remember that sometimes dealers pay less than collectors.
