Yeah, it's the Y from LIBERTY. And you can see the outline of Lincoln's back to the left of it. No, nothing on the obverse. Still a nice find.
Well if you think about it, the Y came from Liberty on the obverse die. On the obverse die those letters would have to be indented to create a raise impression on the coin. So on a clash the indented Y on the obverse die struck the reverse die and created a raised Y on the reverse die. Therefore when the planchet was struck the raise Y on the reverse die would make an indented Y on the coin. Make sense?
No I have a 2000 Rosie dime with clash marks and the images are incused not all are raised images i would say Jazzcoins Joe
