Don't take this the wrong way, I am not trying to rain on anyone's parade, but I don't understand the point of going to WalMart for coins. A lot of retail stores have coins, is there some particular reason that WalMart is better than others? :)

The reason, I use it is becasue they are such a big CO. they order from the FED, so your likely to get new coins still in the box. Also they may order more boxes and have extra, that a bank may not have. That's how I'll be using them.

i was wondering the same thing since wally world gets their coins from the same places we all do (the bank) which i have pretty decent luck with past few weeks i have scored 20-30 wheat cents , and about 15-20 nickels before 1950 . i search 2-4 rolls of pennies and 1-2 rolls of nickels each day , and sometimes i get nothing and sometimes ii hit a couple per role ! my theory is where do people go to cash in that old jug, can, or box of coins that we all have laying around (the bank) and sometimes people don't care they just want the cash and they don't search what they have , so in that "ONES MAN TRASH IS ANOTHER MANS TREASURE" but we know that it's in no way trash !............ but i did hear of a woman here at our local wally world in po-dunk Paris , IL who found a old style $20 (don't know how old) and got a grand out of it on ebay here a while back-pretty cool find ! but i guess if they will take their stuff to the bank and cash it in they will also spend their money anywhere i may hit the old wally world myself !!! i'll take the finds any way i can get them ! ;)

I saw the Brinks truck at my Wal-Mart the other day bringing in boxes of coins to their cash office. Wal-Mart gets coins the exact same way banks do.

In fact Wal-mart is SUCH a big company that they are making attempts to become a bank or at least buy one. So far they have been blocked but it is only a matter of time. Soon the bank/Walmart decision will be one of semantics only. Here's a snippet:
