82 Lincoln with cud ?

    Not sure if a cud is the technical term for this. The "9" in the date appears to be filled in. Found it in my change the other day. I think its pretty common and worthless but neat though.

    Not a cud.
    A cud must involve the rim.
    That is a die chip.

    I thought a cud was from a broken die and extra metal gets through and shows up on the surface of the coin. It doesn't necessarily have anything to do with the rim.

    harryj. I try to find/buy coins like that and use them to fill the holes of my album. Why have a 1982 lincoln like everyone else has in their album when you can have one that has a story to tell?

    A cud is caused by a piece of the rim breaking off.
