1955 South African half penny proof or not?

    Im trying to figure out if these are proof coins or not and maybe a value on one? Any knowledge is greatly appreciated.

    Mintage of the 55 1/2 penny was 3,774,000 and 2850 KM 45 prices seem to be all over the map.
    If a proof say 62/ 63 I see some real value if a mint strike the values seem to be under a dollar depending on condition.
    Back around 2008-10 I has some real sweet SA coins. Mint and proof sets that included the 1 and 2 rand gold coins.
    I parted with them to a former Rhodesian /S.A. person who had left S.A. and lived in Canada.
    At one time a thought to be good friend....turned out to be just the opposite.

    Judging by the halo around the lettering, I think they're polished business strikes.

    Thank you for your knowledge. I have a few of them "like 30" even a couple with errors. Not sure what to do with them.
