Really fun write up and great coins all! Ah, the age old question: does Nerva just look grumpy due to having a massive nose or is he actually grumpy for having that gargantuan nose? The world may never no...se Just took this pic today!

Thanks! "Cleaned with some light graffiti and polishing marks." noted in the seller's description, which is probably why I could afford it!
I have only one Nerva. What I said a little while ago about my Antoninus Pius coins applies here as well: I bought it quite a few years ago, before I was actively collecting ancient coins, and don't have the seller's photos anymore. So I have to fall back on my own cell phone photos. Nerva AR Denarius 97 AD, Obv. Laureate head right, IMP NERVA CAES AVG PM TR P COS III P P/ Rev. Nice write up @Ocatarinetabellatchitchix and great Nervas everyone. Here is mine. Nerva: A Rare Common Coin Roman Empire Nerva (AD 96-98) AR Denarius, Rome mint, struck October AD 97 Dia.: 17 mm Wt.: 3.47 g Obv.: IMP NERVA CAES AVG P M TR P II COS III PP; Laureate bust right Rev.: SALVS PVBLICA; Salus, seated left, holding grain ears Ref.: RIC II 20 Ex Naville Numismatic Live Auction 44 (Nov. 2018)
My new Nerva denarius. A great potrait of the emperor IMHO unlike many crude caricatures you can often see on his coins. And beautifuly toned, which I couldn't quite capture on my photos. Nerva, 96 – 98 Denarius 96, AR 3.68 g. IMP NERVA CAES AVG P M TR P COS II P P Laureate head r. Rev. AEQVITAS – AVG Aequitas standing l., holding scales and cornucopiae. C 3. BMC 1. RIC 1. CBN 1
Neat thread. I like how the chalcedony bust of Nerva shown in the OP appears to be supernaturally floating in midair. This Nerva as from my 2007-08 novice collection remains the only coin of his I’ve had thus far.
