Issued to celebrate the Gasparilla Festival. I have no idea what that is on when it happened. Just a nice clean brass token.

I see that now that you mentioned it. I'm tired, I spent the entire day at my antique shop. I only go when they are closed. It's been busy this month.

 

The Gasparilla Festival happens every year (February) here in Tampa. Harbor Island is a small Island just south of downtown Tampa. Festivities go on four 4 days with parades. It starts with a pirate invasion of Tampa. It's almost Mini Madri Gras.

 

And I've got a niece in Tampa. Funny they never mentioned this to me . . . .

Hmm, can one pirate overrun another? Arrrgh me matie . . . . !

I'm sure if you ask her she will be able to tell you about it. Unless you LIKE large crowds of drunken people, it's not that great of a time. The Parade can be cool, but I have been only twice in the 40 years I have lived here. My second trip reminded me of why I waited so long after the first trip to go back.

 

Sounds like a lot of fun!

 

The throw you have is more likely an anodized aluminum one rather than brass

 

It's too heavy to be aluminum.
