This token is one of my favorite ones. It's brass and in great shape. It commentates the 150th anniversary of the surrender of the British at Yorktown, Virginia on October 19, 1781. Yorktown us a very interesting place to visit.

I wasn't old enough to drive when my parents took me there but I was impressed. The history and the layout of the land have stuck with me all these years. If you have the chance to go I recommend you do so.

That is cool. If you are a Yorktown fan, you need to get the Surrender at Yorktown Medal, it features the same obverse as the Lafayette Dollar with Washington and Lafayette conjoined busts.

Very nice token, considering it's age. I like Whitehead & Hoag pieces.

My mother was there for the celebration, and saw John Philip Sousa conduct the Marine Band in the Stars and Stripes Forever. She passed away last year.

That must have meant a lot to her. That would have been great to be part of that and I'm glad to hear she was. My condolences on the passing of your mother.
