Metal Detecting - Inwood Hill Park Scouting - 1 AG Merc & 7 Wheat Cents -

Hello everyone,
This morning I did a 4 hour scouting Metal Detecting hunt of a brand new park my club would like to detect when it gets cooler. My friends hate the heat so I have been detecting alone all summer long!

The park is known as Inwood Hill Park located at the northernmost part of Manhattan in NYC. There are many old mansions and building structures dating back decades (even though I could not find them)
Lenape Native Americans had a settlement there and native artifacts can also be found.

I detected different areas and did pretty good with US Clad Coins and Lincoln Cents. I did find 1 Silver Mercury Dime and 7 Wheat Cents. Hopefully my next trip there with the guys will produce more silver and relic finds!

Don't you mean, "sneaking in before they can detect there"? LOL
Just kidding of course, but nice to have a new place to put the coil down. How hot has it been that it would keep your friends away? Just curious as I know in the past you have almost "heat stroked" while hunting.

Not sure this counts as metal detecting? I dropped a bag of wheaties on the floor last night and many rolled under the desk. Twenty minutes later, I finally rounded up the stragglers.
