Good morning! I’ve taken a short break from searching through my years of coin hoarding to spend more time “studying”!! Am I on the right path yet? Is this 1972 a doubled die reverse??? (And if so, who wants it for $1,000,000?!!!!)
Lol! When I first started sorting my coins (must’ve been around 10 years old), I sorted them by the way they looked! “Zombie Lincoln’s” were actually a category! As well as “Lincoln’s Galaxy” and “Lincoln hit with fairy dust”!!! Now that I’m older and so much more wiser, my categories are much more “adult”! Such as, “what the fudge are these Lincoln’s?” “DDR’s???????”, “DDO’s????”, and “If Lincoln was in a beauty pageant”! Two years of searching through coins- I pretty much haven’t been right on anything yet! Lmao!
@Momof4 ...if you want to be right... Go to Variety Vista or Wexler and match what you see. If it matches, you’re right. Conversely, you’re wrong. This is how experienced collectors do it, for the most part. And doing it this way helps you learn to answer your questions for yourself. The chances of a new DDO/DDR surfacing from the 70s is slim, in this case 48 years later. And if you found one, there would be many more to be found for corroboration as they would all be from the same die pair...Spark
I know, I know!! I was honestly just being lazy and was hoping to get a straight forward answer!! Lol!! But you are absolutely right- I’ve got to take the time and do it myself!! I cannot say it enough though- I graduated with a degree in Psychology and Computer Sciences and Networking!!! THIS (coins) is the hardest thing I have ever tried to figure out!!! By a long shot!!
UGH!!! Well atleast now I do t have to waste my time researching it!! Lmao!! On to the next one!! Thank you, as always!
