first of all, the color is all wrong (it may be the lighting but I doubt it) also there are many features that are more pointed that could be allowed under normal circumstances (most notably the ear and chin) as compared to the round, flowing features of a genuine example. In short an easily noticed counterfeit (not as dumb as you thought eh?).

 

I never thought that you were dumb. However, the coins I posted are both real.



As you may know throughout the years the mints engraving staff sought to enhance the sharpness of the portrait. So you have a different looking Lincoln. Compare a 1909 to a 2009 and see for yourself the changes.

 

Just a cheat thread.

I submit in cheapo crown size flips I buy from Colletctons. Use the extra paper insert to write the " submission # and line " on. Never had a problem.

Gather your coins into a bundle, rubberband them and off they go. I have yet to have any issues.

I have always sent them registered, which takes about 7-8 business days for them to post as received, now that I know express mail is an option, I may try that next time.

Heads up, PCGS is pretty quick these days, I have had economy tier grades in less than 2 weeks. Can't count on it, but .......

That is a beatuiful example of a MS 65RD 1909 VDB authentic coin. Were do you see that this is a counterfiet no way in howdy doody.
