1. A 1893-CC Morgan. This is an upgrade to my Good one and probably as high as I'll be able to go. Got three more Morgan I want to upgrade, then call it quits for that set. http://home.comcast.net/~dcderoo/100-1893CC-VF30.jpg 2. A 1944-D Jefferson nickel. This is the first coin in a parallel set of War Nickels. My first set is all FS coins. Now I'm working on a matched set of MS-67's. http://home.comcast.net/~dcderoo/5-1944d-MS67.jpg 3. A 1934-D Oregon Commemorative. This is the latest addition to my Early Commemoratives set. No super-grades expected, just a nice affordable set. Commemoratives are really a "back burner" set but I couldn't afford to pass up the good price on this one. http://home.comcast.net/~dcderoo/100-1934d-Oregon-commem.jpg As you can see my interests are many and varied. Coins of the US is the only common factor.
Very nice. Good luck with assembling that MS-67 nickel set. There are some really tough ones in there.
From what I see in catalog value, the 45-P and 45-S should be the tough ones. I know the 45-S with FS in any MS grade is the key. As long as I stay away from FS coins, I think it will be manageable.
very nice, attractive coins! A question: are the CC's in the mintmark on the 93 of different fonts? Looks like it in the photo. just curious.
Certainly looks like it, but going back to the coin itself, nope, they are the same. Font type is definitely the same. The left "C" is punched higher than the right one, and with the lighting I used it looks smaller. But they are the same. It's a documented VAM variety.
Nice CC Morgan. While it is always difficult to grade based on photographs, it appears that this was conservatively graded. I likely would have gone XF-40.
Nice coins. I love the CC, just enough wear to show it was used but not enough to distract from the beauty of the coin.. The other two are great MS examples. :thumb:
