Type set addition 3 cent silver

    Mine are all worn and holey. Congrats on getting one in such nice condition!

    That looks like a good one. These coins frequently come with unattractive black spots, which cannot be removed without causing more damage. The reason is that these coins were only 75 silver and 25% copper instead of the usual 90-10 mix.

    Congress changed that in 1854.

    Thank you. It is an MS65 in a PCGS slab with CAC. I almost bought an MS64 CAC but then this one came available.

    Wow, nice coin. That series can be ugly in a number of different ways but yours is none of them. ;)

    I'm going to pick one up that nice someday. I like the design, but circulation was NOT kind to it.
