I found it interesting that the description says the design is an interlocking design.

"The medal was designed as an arc shape where four quadrant shapes would interlock completing a circle made of the four separate medals."

I like it but what is it supposed to represent beside city, state, and year?

FIDEM is an international society of art medalists. This is probably from their 30th conference that was held in Colorado Springs. It's not an ANA medal.

FIDEM is a separate organization. According to the Numismatic News article linked below, the ANA was host to the FIDEM Congress and medals could be ordered through the ANA. However, this is a FIDEM medal, not an ANA medal.

Edit to add: I'm not a medal collector but over the years, the annual FIDEM medals have been published in the numismatic literature as they were issued. I always found them very interesting, and thought that they would make a great topic to collect.

Fair enough, however I never said it was an ANA medal at all. :cigar:

I agree, it would be nice to see the four separate medals intact! :D
