Picked this one up back in July. A difficult date to find that looks nice. 071D78E1-3475-46DD-B44F-8231236D426A.jpeg 71A4B3A0-8C68-4C05-82FA-B6C2E590F04A.jpeg

It seems to have some rub on the high points, so I guess it graded 58. Always hard to tell from a single set of pics.

Most people were close. It is a low grade MS coin. No wear that I see, just plenty of bag marks on the obverse. The Morgans from 1892-1896 have difficult dates in MS condition, and are the holy grail years of Morgan coinage. Uncirculated coins from this period are graded conservatively, as prices take big jumps for each MS grade. This coin in 65 is a $10,000 coin. So, I agree with the grade—it has nice luster, a good strike, but the obverse is chattery. It does look nice in hand. A8F6F330-C58E-4598-8C4C-57DC1A0B60C2.png

Dang it I didn’t get a chance to guess. I think I had it pegged, but I was wavering a bit between 60 and 61. So not sure which way I would have finally went lol. Very nice coin and one I still need for my collection!

I paid $231 for what is a $300-400 coin. In 63, it doubles. In 64, it doubles again. In 65, it is 10 grand. All of the 92-96 Morgans do the same with condition—big jumps.
