Thanks for all of the eBay purchasing tips. I was buying 80-130y/o folding cameras from eBay I found most were either overpriced or in poor condition. lately, I've been buying them from local auctions or EBTH.COM.
I don't waste my time sitting around waiting for auctions to end so I can do a manual snipe bid. I let the snipe tool do it while I'm away doing other things.
This is off the subject but I collect coins and noticed your cameras. Very nice. I have a camera my great aunt left me. It's new in the original box. It's a Japanese camera Yashica Mat Fully Automatic. You hand wind the film I think. Inside the case it says copal - MXV. By the bottom lens it says 80mm. I was told years ago it has excellent lens. My aunt was married to a very wealthy man who had passed away and it's from that time period. Do you have any info. I can send pictures. I don't want to upset the coin crowd though. If you can help I will send a email address. Thank you.
My dad developed film in the late 50's. Then many years later he devoleped micro fish film and copied it. The copies where then sent for storage in a mountain. I'll have to ask him what mountain.
It's simple. Bid in the last second. Bid the highest you're willing to pay. If you can't manually bid, use a snipe service. The link below is a free one. . When I manually bid, I hit the bid button with 4 seconds remaining. It always has worked for me. Been an eBay member since 2000, so I'm not a noob when it comes to eBay auctions. https://www.snip.pl/en/
If you happen to not win an auction with a last minute bid, just think to yourself WHOO HOO saved a few bucks and helped someone else stimulate the economy.
I read an article about a mountain storage facility. It's immense w/ constant temperature and humidity. Amazing story. don't remember the name.
