Since elementary school, Christopher Columbus is among one of my favorite historical figures I learned about & I credit that got me into history throughout my life. I am very excited to recently add this El Salvador Peso featuring Columbus. I have wanted one of these for a very long time.

Funny thing, there was a street named “Cristóbal Colón” in Paraguay. Everyone just call it “Colón” and also that’s what appears in the signs. I lived there for almost 30 years and never made the connection of the street and name and the historical character.
