    Counterfeit George III coins are an interesting sideline. For further info on this quite extensive area I highly recommend Peter Poulsen's website. I'm sure your dies will be listed somewhere on there. http://www.steppeulvene.com/index.george_iii.html

    Meanwhile, another counterfeit shilling - this time an 1819. Originally they were silvered to hide the brass or copper surfaces.

    You think mine is counterfeit? I always wondered about the colour of it, really does not look like silver.

    Unquestionably. It looks to be brass, but colours can be misleading.

    Cool, thanks. I like having contemporary counterfeits. I must look at the link you provided, though it is difficult for me to identify die matches. Always learning something on here.
