Damn @paddyman98 Your always looking down. Bet you never walked around with untied shoes. Don’t stare at the sun ok
Follow the money, Paddy. Same thing happened to me at work about 10 years ago. This gal who knew I was into pennies, came into work early and left a trail of wheaties(starting with '58 and ending in '09 except the '15 that was missing) leading from my office door to her little cubicle. As soon as I arrived at her station, she came out all chatty, but did not admit to leaving the cent trail. As I tell it to my wifey, she's darn lucky that this pretty little damsel didn't mingle in some "s" mintages, as I just may have taken the bait.
Heading to work this morning I wanted a change of scenery from my usual train stop on 28th street so I got off on 23rd street. These were my finds this morning. I should make the station change more often Edit!... And just a few minutes after posting I found these in front of my job!
I think we've found the real reason for the coin shortage. People are dropping them all over the streets of NY
In these hard times, lots of people must have holes in their pockets as I can't imagine someone throwing a quarter away. The jewelry (earrings) is an easy thing to loose, so that's understandable.
Hey Paddy. I’m still having to dig mine. The other day I had permission for a 1940 house. Found my fifth pocket watch, 3 1930s wheat pennies and a ‘59 Washington quarter. I also dug a penny signal that turned out to be an irregular shaped piece of copper. That evening I was tumbling some filthy pennies and on a whim I tossed it in too. Later I was checking out the much cleaner pennies and glanced at the not-a-penny. I stopped and put it under my magnifier and then snapped some pictures and posted here and a couple of other sites. What I saw appeared to be a crown with a Roman numeral III below it. There were other inscriptions on the opposite side. So far everybody agrees it a Spanish cob. Phillip the third 8 maravedis. Possibly 1618. If so, my oldest found coin was a 1718 1 Reale. I would have jumped a full century. ADMINS! WE NEED A METAL DETECTING FORUM. PLEASE.
Another huge find. This time on a NYC Subway platform this morning. Should I call it FOP - Found On Platform? Pennies and 1 Quarter. All disinfected!
Who carries that many pennies. My goodness. I couldn’t get up if I had to pick those up. You got to map these finds
Finds from Friday morning and this Monday morning cleaning the sidewalk in front of my building at work. Aruba 5C
FOG from a walk in the East Village yesterday evening. Someone must of gotten tired of carrying around European coins and dumped them!
