1992 D L.C. Doubling of the Strike Variety

    Does anyone know what kind of doubling this is? It looks like strike doubling to me. Look at the Date and Liberty on obverse. Look at UNITED STATES OF AMERICA and the monument and E PLURIBUS UNUM on Reverse. It looks like the monument has doubling on the outside edges. This is a 1992 D Lincoln Cent that I found about an hour ago. It looks like a triple strike in the E PLURIBUS UNUM to me or maybe quadruple strike, but I'm not an expert at this.:bigeyes:

    There's also plating split doubling, very common on the copper plated zinc cents. I think it's what you have.

    I would say on the date and liberty rockdude is right plated split doubling but on the e pluibus unium thats die deterioration doubling it has that mushy appearence.

    Yeah, I sure do get a lot of die deterioration doubling. The only Double Die I have found so far was the DDR#12 double tree on the Minnessota State Quarter. But that is a good one.:computer: I did manage to dig out this coins brother in the same stack of coins. It has the same feutures but to less of a degree. Here are the pics:
