Nice. I've always loved these. I have one, it's an NGC MS 67 RD, I got it for Christmas 2 years ago.

I found it in change along with 24 others just like it. It was in my prime when i carried my glass with me and looked at every coin i got from change when i found it, I went back in the store and asked for all the pennies she had left.

Wow, good find, the only thing that could be better then that would be getting 25 1955 DDOs in change.

Of course I don't mind, I paid nothing. The person who bought it for me paid $75. I've heard that she got it for a steal. Some dealers have offered me $375 when I tell them abut it, but I won't sell it ever.

if your asking me the answer is no i have a penny in it. Not a bad turn around maybe if times get real bad I'll sell some.

Since Im not that big into errors, and I realy never look for any of these for sale. Does your doubling look similar to mine or is it more?

If your asking me, then it is a definite NO. I love the coin and it is a beauty that I could never bring my self to part with.

Great find or should I say finds, 25 of them. WOW. I been looking for one in change since 1996 and still haven't found one.

It's a bit hard to tell based on your photos. Mine does look more significant though.

For some reason the other doubling isnt coming out in the pic. Maybe its the way I have the coin angled. However the other lettering is pretty good also not as bad as liberty. The lettering is doubled on the left of In God We Trust. It isn't as bad on the right side of the coin though.

The 1995P doubled die obverse ( 1DO-001) is a Class 5 DD, pivoted hub doubling. The pivot point is about at the 4 o'clock position. The spread gets larger, the farther it is away from the pivot point, thus more doubling on the left of the coin ("In" and "Lib" than in the date. Several sources say there may be up to a million produced. The highest prices are for early die stage, high certified grades.

Wow thanks for the info i didn't know that.

What grade would you give mine?

More than likely, since you got them out of circulation, they would be AU. But that is just a guess based on the photo. Some might actually grade at MS. But the "Liberty" and the motto has to be in better focus and larger to try and estimate die stage ( how sharp the separation ).

Nice finds! It has been some time but I think I found one in circulation and I have purchased and sold quite a few them. I will probably hang onto my one and only DDO #2 that I have ever owned which I received in a large order of Variety and Error Cents that I purchased quite awhile ago. The DDO #2 is probably over 100 times more rare than the DDO #1 but the prices just don't reflect that at this time. Hopefully they will in the future!
