This coin has seen better days but considering its age, that's understandable.. I have a 1907 Indian Head Cent and the 9 isn't connected like this.. The date doesn't look right age or not.. Any opinions.. TY 20200901_113506.jpg 20200901_113506.jpg 20200901_113555.jpg 20200901_113506.jpg 20200901_113555.jpg 20200901_113637.jpg 20200901_113536.jpg

17 more years of wear and tear. Plus the 07 might have been in a penny loafer and not circulated as much.

    It's 'connected' due to wear,
    and surface problems.

It's a normal coin, with wear
    and some environmental surface
    damage, imo

Put it back into circulation for another 130 years and you will have the ultra-rare "disappearing date" Indian cent . . . . .

What Fred said. Being an known expert, I have to agree with him that it is just circulation wear. I've seen other coins that appear much like yours. Nice old coin to fill a hole, that's for sure.
Good photos by the way. Thanks.

I suspect in some past time the number took a hit, the metal was moved and circulation wear did the rest.

    That's what wear can do.
