The 9 in 1970 has an error.. The I and B in Liberty are close.. The reverse looks doubled.. The FG is messed up and the top of the last 2 columns are not right.. The last A in America isn't right either.. I don't know if you can see what I am talking about with the ceiling.. when I try to post a magnified shot, it's over pixeled.. Sorry
Looks normal to me to. Die wear and strike weakness. http://www.varietyvista.com/01b LC Doubled Dies Vol 2/DDR 1972-D.htm
Okay.. Sorry for the time.. Cant believe no one sees nothing.. not even the error on the nine.. or the ceiling of the last 2 columns.. but thanks for the replies
Yes, your second photo showed the 9 had a small die chip. It was hidden by the lighting in the other photos. I think it a die chip on the reverse as well.
Great.. Thanks.. I thought I was going crazy!! Lol.. I don't guess my phone takes pictures well enough to post.. Not clear enough.. TY
I wish you could see the die markers on the ceiling of the last 2 columns.. the first column looks like it has an extra line.. but I really appreciate what you did see.. TY
In very good shape considering it's 50 years old. For sure not in circulation all of those years. Abe's got a terrible gash on his cheek though.
Thanks for the info.. I'm learning.. My dad had me collecting wheat pennies, buffalo nickels, and half dollars for him since I was 10.. lol.. I know some of the correct things to look for, but still a newbie.. I just know he was keeping this one for a reason and its pretty interesting as well.. I appreciate the response..
