    Hello,

I can't find an exact match, can anyone read these characters/help me identify this coin? This is the first one I've personally come across with a blank side (doesn't seem to be worn off, could be wrong!).

That's a Japanese Kanei Tsuhou. They were made in the Edo Period (1626-1868)
    They are fairly plentiful.

Notice how, on the top character (kan) the two legs meet in the middle? That is characteristic of the "Ko Kanei" (Old Kanei) type, issued from 1636 to 1668. See Hartill, EJC, 4.10-4.55 (I can't distinguish the exact sub-variety here).
