Hi all, Here are some Coins for opinions. Some of these have been posted before, and I promised better pictures, well those pictures are now available. Enjoy! Heres the same coin But the color better represents the true color of the coin.
Hey there Snaz! Lots of history in your hands there! I'm a bit partial to large copper so I dig the 1806 cent!
Heck yeah - that 1806 has great VF details on it(probably net at F) and beats any of my early date half cents. Two nice IHC's also - both look really nice, I would say AU on those. And a nice brown wheatie - a F/VF - pictures a little dark. Several very nice coins!
Thanks a ton Mark! The "two" IHC's though are actually the same one, One picture was just there to show the true color of the coin, the first set of pictures of it are deceiving. Yah, I definitely agree with your opinion on the half cent! It's one of my favorite coins because it is my only one. BUT the 26 S.. IMO thats a weak struck XF 40-45 coin, thats a primo example of a 26 S IMHO. Thanks for the comment!
Very nice set of coins Snaz. I really like that 1/2 cent. I have to wonder if that would be a candidate for NCS to remove the verdigris on the reverse. The IHC has some nice die cracks on the reverse or so it looks in the pictures. The 26S, I would say its a nice XF and great eye appeal. A+ on this set of coins. Good job.
Thanks Jim! The IHC has wonderful Die Cracks, I know it sounds like I say this alot, But it is my coin with the best example of Die cracks.
All sweet coins, that 26-S is hammered !!!! Try for better lighting on that coin. I have a cpl of 40's and a 50 of that date, yours is as nice as they are easily, but better pics would help.
Nice coins snaz! I particularly liked the 1864 IHP. I found one, or it found me, in the Catskill Mountains of New York in 1975, I was 15. My mother was planting beans and while she was covering rows, I noticed she had just buried this very very green disc. I dug it up even though I knew my mother would pitch a fit, which she did, and it was a 1864 IHP. An antique dealer said they were available all day few a few bucks, so I gave to a friend of my parents who collected coins. Wish I had kept it. Thanks for sharing the picks. Allen
Yea, that 26-S would probably make a 45 unless they took off for the nick in the "O". Still a nice coin as are the others.
The 1806 looks in real good shape and the 64 IHC even better. Need a better pic but I think you have 3-4 diamonds going.
well, I tried, My photo expertise is lacking, I cant seem to find a happy medium with copper. Either you flood the front of the coin and you can't see any detail, or you don't have enough light. So I tried to adjust the brightness in my photo editing software, this is the best I can do as of now.
From your first pic, does this look any better. BTW, most of what I did was just to set the flip to white. I also lightened a little and cut the saturation.
That was GIMP (Ruben is not totally useless), but I much prefer photoshop. However, photoshop is stuck on my old computer so I will probably have to get used to GIMP.
