Hi is this 1955 Wheat penny an error and if so what would the error be called it is up by the top of the penny by Lincoln head. Thank you very much to who might know. March 2019 I found someone's Wheat collection dump from the bank and I found coins from the 40s and 50s and about 80 from the 30s, all were mainly common years, but I have been looking at the Wheat pennies through my digital microscope since I am still on unemploymet. Thank you to who all comments. I am sorry I do not have a picture of the back of the penny, it is only on the front of the penny. [IMG]

I am wondering if you have heard of the famous 1955 doubled die? Take a picture of the date. Either way I think that's a die break, looks like a nice error.

Looks like some kind of die crack or die cud, perhaps, connecting with the D and W. It's definitely an error, and fairly attractive with the odd top to Lincoln's head. Maybe worth a couple dollars on eBay.

Oh, I see it now. Neat.

Initially, the only error I saw was the spelling error in the title. ;)

Looks like a deteriorated die strike. Probable die chips on top of head. Cannot enlarge, so?? Error, yes.

No screw up it says mountain man posted it underneath the italics. Just me being facetious

I respect Mountain Man's opinion and knowledge also. Full photo would make for a better analysis though. Good luck
