Where To Find Online Pics Of Coin Grades?

Are there any sites on the net where I can find pictures of US coins, preferably side by side, in all of the basic grades (at least those which are easy enough to tell differences in a picture), such as:

    Washington Quarter in AG-3, G4, VG-8, F-12, VF-20, XF-40, AU-50, MS-60
    Mercury Dime in AG-3, G4, VG-8, F-12, VF-20, XF-40, AU-50, MS-60
    Walking Liberty Half in AG-3, G4, VG-8, F-12, VF-20, XF-40, AU-50, MS-60

    etc...

It would just be nice to have a site available so I can see each coin graded side by side, so I have something to compare mine to. I'm kind of a newbie to coin collecting and it would be helpful. Anyone have info on this?

First off, welcome to CT. Hope you enjoy your stay./

As for your pictures, try Heritage (http://coins.ha.com/). You have to join, but it is free and you get lots to go with it. That is what I use as my price guide. Sorry, the pics are not side by side, but there are lots of them and they are a lot better than you see on eBay.

But you can use the pictures to create your own grading charts by simply copying the images and putting them side by side in a document of your own.

Thanks for the help and the warm welcome. That was an interesting site, but the coin grades there are too high for what I'm looking for. The lower grade coins are really old stuff from the 1700s and 1800s, and I don't have anything to compare to them. Any other ideas? Or even a good book that has nice photos I can buy?

You do not have to list them in the order that the auctions ended (their default). You can sort in order by grade, reverse order by grade, or just for a specific grade - and all of the grades are there.

Oh, thanks. I didn't see the options to see the coins by grade. Thanks again. :headbang:

Coin Worlds Coin Values book called MAKING THE GRADE. is a grading guid that shows pictures of the top 50 widely collected U.S. coins.

You can buy this on line for $39.99 or $29.99 if you subscribe to either Coin World or Coin Values.

I have found this book very helpful when grading all sorts of coins, familiar and unfamiliar.
