I've been patiently trying to collect Anglo-Saxon coins for over a year now. I like the small bronze stycas of the Northumbrian Kingdom - they're quite a challenge to ID. I got lucky enough to find a seller on ebay who periodically offers individual stycas in an uncleaned state and bought two. The first: Aethelred II, Eanred moneyer AE styca York - 840-844 AD cross in center +EĐILRED REX annulet in center +EANRED Spink 865 The second, my best find: Redwulf, Cuthbert moneyer AE styca York - 844 AD cross in center +REDVLF REX cross in center +CVĐBEREhT Spink 867 Unfortunately, there's no decent scanner where I am now. So scans will have to wait until January. But these aren't much to look at anyway.
