You should never pay $2,000 for a coin that comes in a baggie. If you are asking is it a genuine rare steel 1944, I will ask you why is it not in a slab and authenticated and graded?
Details look sort of mushy so I am unsure. I would not have spent $2,000 on it without knowing for sure. I would send it to a TPG.

These can be found with a little bit of searching. @Fred Weinberg I believe sells them when they come around.
I think my father must have saved every "steel" cent he could. When he died, he left over 300 1943 "steel" cents to my brother and I. All I have done with mine is put them in "flips" and a box. I really don't think they are worth much more than face value.
What if they have multiple errors. This one is definitely DD in mint and date. Part of skull missing and in fantastic shape
