Many members on Coin Talk prefer that members post Full Image photos to make it easier to enlarge and view your submissions. As a new member, you may not be aware of just how to do that, so I have written up what I hope are helpful tips. You should always post in focus FULL IMAGE photos (after you upload your photo, two buttons appear: Thumbnail and Full Image, click Full Image and your photo appears full size on your post and is easily enlarged by clicking on it. Always show both the obverse and reverse, even if your question is just about one side. Members can often give more valuable information having both sides to evaluate. Crop out superfluous background so just the coin shows, and post photos with correct orientation so members don't have to turn their computer in some awkward fashion to view it properly. Add close ups of areas you have questions about and make your questions as definitive as possible so we know what you are asking for. And try to have the best lighting possible to show the most favorable photo of the coin. Hope this helps in the future. Good luck.
Excellent @Mountain Man, I have often thought that when you include this in peoples posts, that it should actually have a permanent place somewhere that can be referenced by those who don't yet have the experience
This is where you and I disagree. You seem to be the only one who insists that new members post full images of both sides. Sometimes, all you end up doing is confusing the newbie because other people who chime in later on don't indicate which image they are talking about. It happens more than you realize! The only time that most other members ask for images of both sides is when an anomaly on one side can be affected or confirmed by an image of the other side. For example, a cud can cause a loss of metal flow in the same position on the opposite side. Or, a counterstamp causes damage to the devices on the opposite side. If I were a newbie, and I posted one of the following images, please tell me why it would be necessary to post full images of both sides? 1935 "Crackhead" 1983 "Lincoln's Purse"
Yes it's my photos I get the PICTURE.lol thank you for that educating moment no really I appreciate that I'm new and trying to do better .but thank you .
No worries. The suggestion is based upon my own learning curve and what others have commented on. I was just trying to save some other new members that bit of time learning it.
I agree Chris, but it was easier (shorter) to not have to explain all of that. I'm lazy in my old age.
