1999 Stretched off center, .01 cent.

    Here is a neat little error I picked up.
    Note: the top is the stretched off center showin zinc core, while the bottom is a regular off center.

    For some reason the pic doesnt show up on my computer, I would like to see the coin !!

    Ok that was strange but the pic is there now!!! and I triple the cool rating !!!!

    Eh, sadly I had to pay for these lol.... But, they were put together by Mr.Fred ( can't spell his last name ) weinburg? reinburg? somethin along those lines... He has some pretty nice stuff. BTW, they were takin out of a neat display thingy, I couldn't display it in my album though so it had to go :) You can't see it in the pic, but the stretched O/C , the blank part looks like the end of a spoon, has that same kind of dipping effect, pretty neato.

    The effect you're seeing is pretty common on off-center cents. Zinc exposure would be due to at least two factors: 1) Thinner-than-normal plating, 2) Minimum die distance smaller than average, resulting in more expansion of the struck area.

    Yup... thus why it's called a "stretched" off center...
