. I'm fairly new to the hobby of coin hunting and collecting. I came across this quarter while coin roll hunting and I'm not sure about it so I would love to get some opinions
Not sure but interesting. Also appears to be some die gouges at the ponytail, in front and in back of.
Looks like it may be a struck thru coin , meaning that it probably had something between the coin die and the blank coin when struck.
I can't be sure this is an strike through too well (Variety hunter here lol), so I'll go ahead and call in @Collecting Nut and @Danomite
I’m not sure what’s going on here. Gut feeling is it may be a strike through. I only suggest that because I’m not seeing any damage on the reverse. I’m am not that good at errors, I’m more of a variety guy.
This was my thoughts exactly but I’m not a pro either. I couldn’t find any similar examples just looking up the term struck through
