I know that Doubling is different on the newer coins. This one is a little different from the ones I've seen with machine double or die deterioration, it's almost like it was double or even triple struck. I see it through Theo's name, EPU, Date, North.Dakota, around his collar and where is hat meets his face?
Machine doubling +1. I also wish they were double or triple struck. Haven't seen any double struck ATB quarter.
Dang It!! it looks so Cool!! But I remembered what ya'll had said on the other one I posted, so I didn't get my hopes up to high..Thank ya'll!
ATB quarters are not State and Territories quarters. This is a different series which came after the State quarter series.
Call them what you may, but, they are beautiful and you should keep them even though there is no premium for them.
Most Dies have recessed (incuse) letters numbers and images. When the Die strikes the Blank Planchet the metal flows into these areas and creates all you see that is raised on the coin. When you see incused lettering on the coin then it is raised on the Die and it strikes what you see recessed on the coin.. Simple process.
